Thank goodness for vacation! The Hubs and I packed up our
sweaters, dropped the bears off in daycare and headed north-west for our spring vacation this year. Lots of people asked us why we choose to go to Oregon for our vacation. I think after they see these pictures they will understand why. Not only is it home to Portland and the hilarious show Portlandia, but it has some of the prettiest coast line in America and even it's own rain forest! We had a tour guide lead us up Mt. Hood our first day to show us some of the 77 waterfalls, including the super impressive Maltnomah Falls. For the rest of the trip we rented a car and explored the state on our own. We traveled along the coast line visiting Cannon Beach, Indian Beach, Girabaldi, Tillamook Bay, and Crab Harbor. While in Tillamook we stopped by the Tillamook Cheese factory to taste test cheese and oddly enough enjoyed ice cream instead. It was probably the best ice cream I've ever tasted served in a waffle cone that actually tasted like a little thin waffle. We walked through the city of Portland each night to take in all the street performers and niche' shopping. I will say that though I enjoyed all the healthy restaurants, we were both very ready to eat some good old fashion southern food when we got home. Not to mention, we were ready to see our little bear family again. So long story not-so-short, great vacation! Let the countdown until our next one begin!
There is so much to do and see and photograph. How will we ever manage to capture it all?
